No. While both plants are part of the cannabis family, hemp does not have the psychoactive effects of marijuana due to hemp’s minimal amount of THC (>0.3%).
Generally speaking, it shouldn’t, but consuming products tested to contain less than 0.3% THC may possibly register on certain tests, depending upon the sensitivity of the test.
We own and operate a small farm in Southern Oregon, growing hemp in our proprietary mineral-rich soil, without chemicals or pesticides. Our process for curing the mature plants requires patience and controlled conditions to ensure the quality we demand. Additionally, we believe in the power of whole flower, so everything we create delivers the natural balance of our hemp plants.
A carrier oil, like Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) Oil, also known as Fractionated Coconut Oil, is an oil known to penetrate our skin and cells with positive effects. Most hemp tincture formulas mix an extracted oil or isolated molecular compound with a carrier oil to create the product. Cortez Farms uses a natural, age old infusion process to blend whole flower hemp compounds with the carrier oil, both ending up as one.
Our hemp oil is produced by infusing whole flower hemp into natural plant-based carrier oils like coconut, olive and pumpkin. This is different from most solvent based extraction techniques, that use a chemical solvent to free the plant compounds from the plant in an oil form. We believe that our infusing method retains the plant’s natural balance as opposed to faster extraction processing that isolates only certain cannabinoids.
While we avoid making any medical claims, people and doctors who use whole flower hemp products report relief from a whole host of ailments, including anxiety, seizures, PTSD, psychotic episodes, epilepsy, and high blood pressure.
